Norman Raymond Galli, 85, a life-long resident of Beaver Falls, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 following a brief illness. Norman was born March 22, 1935, a twin to his sister Norma, son of the late Paul and Angelina (Morossi) Galli. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School, Class of 1954. Norman proudly served his country with the U.S. Army.
Following his honorable discharge, Norman returned home and began a long career with Babcock and Wilcox. He then finished his years of employment as a supervisor with Warren Steel, formerly Copperweld Steel, Warren, OH.
Norman was a man of faith and founding member of the Christian Assembly, Ohioville. For a number of years he served the Lord and Church as a volunteer cooking for the Men’s Breakfast Club and the Annual Church Picnic. At home he was always baking delicious bread or cookies that he frequently shared with friends, neighbors and his mail carrier. He also enjoyed surprising the staff at the pharmacy or doctor’s office with an assortment of his baked goods just to let them know they were appreciated. Every spring Norman, along with his daughter Tracy, planted and tended to a large vegetable garden, always sharing the fresh produce with their neighbors.
He was a quiet and humble man and extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. As their biggest fan, Pap was enthusiastically present in the stands at basketball or baseball games. He was proud of their every effort and well prepared after a game to recap their performance. Pap was accurate and efficient at mentally remembering every at-bat, hits and runs; every shot at the basket and every point scored, all free-throws attempted and the numbers missed and made. He was simply delighted to follow and encourage their success.
Norman is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years: Dolly (Miglore) Galli; three children and their spouses: Kathy (Dennis) Damazo, Chippewa Township; Tracy (Alan) Saul Marchionda, Cranberry Township; Chris (Misty) Galli, Monaca; five grandchildren: D.J. (Krisland) Damazo, Phoenixville, PA; Tyler (Megan) Damazo, Cranberry Township; Noah (Emily Bramble) Damazo, Sewickley; Phillip Saul, St. Petersburg, FL; Mitch (Michelle Wiltshire) Saul, Monaca; two great grandchildren: Malachi and Simeon Damazo; his sister and brother-in-law: Alyce (William) Douglas, Tucson, AZ; and brother-in-law: Robert “Bob” Munnell, Ellwood City.
In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his sisters: Dorothy Munnell; Amelia “Millie” Mehno and his twin: Norma Lorenz.
To honor Norman’s wishes, following cremation the family will gather privately to celebrate his life. On line condolences may offered at www.saul-gabauer.com. Arrangements by SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., Rochester.
Psalm 91:1-2,14,16 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
