Pauline “Polly” Bequeath, 83, of Monaca, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 4, 1928 in Bedford, PA, daughter of the late Irvin and Ada (Shippey) Diehl.
Polly was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed the simple pleasures of working in the yard or cooking a great family meal. Later in life she treasured the times she and Blair would take bus trips to interesting places or simply to the casino. She was a member of the Monaca United Methodist Church.
Polly is survived by her husband of 59 years: Blair Bequeath; two daughters and sons-in-law: Karen (James) Savage, New York; Barbara (David) Kay, Monaca; five grandchildren: Leigha Zeiber, Courtney (Doug) Anzur, Brandon (Amy) Zeiber, Alisha (Randy) Taormina and Alaina (Michael Short) Kay; three great grandchildren: Jayden and Ethan Anzur, and Carsyn Short; one sister and brother-in-law: Betty and Charles Hafer, Hagerstown, MD; two nephews: Sonny (Sue) Hafer and Terry (Ann) Hafer.
Friends will be received Friday, August 19, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Her funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor James Trusel, officiating. Private entombment will follow at Sylvania Hills.
