

Richard R. Potosnak, age 89, of Monaca, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Chicora Medical Center. Born on the 4th of July in 1932, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Falat) Potosnak. Richard was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran where he served as a staff Sgt. in the Korean War, and worked for the United States Postal Service as a postal carrier. After serving in the Air Force, he continued to serve his country in the Air Force Reserves. He was a member of the Monaca Turners, the American Legion Post 580, the Monaca Band Room, and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Monaca.
He is survived by three daughters and a son; Juli Williams, Richard (Kimberly) Potosnak, Mari Ann (James) Miller, and Mari Beth (Dean) Sylvester. Also surviving are one sister, Caroline Seddon, and one brother, Jerome Potosnak; eight grandchildren; Lori (Jonathan) Shroyer, Victoria (Bryan) Raeckelboom, Olivia Hempleman, Paul Potosnak, Kristen (Steve) Filipiak, Carla (Andrew) Wells, Brian and Megan Sylvester; nine great grandchildren; Hayden, Owen, Sawyer, Teagan, Reagan, Paige, Ava, Austin and Archer, and two sisters in law, Rita Potosnak, and Carol Coleman.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother William Potosnak Jr., and one daughter, Lori Sue Potosnak.
Friends will be received on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 4-8pm at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, 273 Rt. 68, Rochester, PA, 15074. www.saul-gabauer.com A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Monaca with Father Canice McMullen as celebrant(everyone is asked to please meet at church). Burial with full military will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
