Richard E. Stillwagon

Richard E. Stillwagon, 84, of Center Township, passed unexpectedly, Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his residence. He was born February 9, 1931 in Aliquippa, son of the late Samuel Thomas and Esther Rebecca (Stickle) Stillwagon. Richard retired after 35 years of exemplary service from the Aliquippa Works of LTV Steel where he operated a coal hoist.

Richard was most content spending time with his family, working around the house or outdoors mowing the lawn. He was a family man who loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard was affiliated with the Bunker Hill Community Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years: Juanita Faye (McNear) Stillwagon; an infant son: Richard Stillwagon; three brothers: Sam, James and Robert; four sisters: Etta, Dorothy, Betty Jane and Anna Luisa.

Richard is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: David Stillwagon, Center Township; Steven (Suzanne) Stillwagon, Ambridge; two daughters and sons-in-law: Marlene (Timothy Tharp) Smega, Center Township; Brenda (Mark) Waugh, South Heights; six grandchildren: Clinton, Ben, Heather, Amanda and her husband Justin, Julie, Jason and his wife Lisa; eight great grandchildren: Jada, Russell, Kayliana, Jayden, Aubrey, Jason, and the twins, Ashton and Jase; one brother: Leroy Stillwagon, Center Township; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Harriett and Pat McDonald, Monaca; Geraldine and Earl Grim, Raccoon Township; his special nephew: Bob Stillwagon, Center Township; his brother-in-law: David McCrory, Aliquippa; two former sons-in-law: Paul Smega and Frank Proakis.

Friends will be received Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 2 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). His funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Sunflower Garden of Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
