

Ruth E. Rowe, 90 of Brighton Township, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, May 25, 2014 while under the compassionate care of Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley. She was born February 19, 1924 in East Liverpool, OH, daughter of the late Mont R. and Anna M. (Shay) McCoy. Ruth proudly served her country as a WAC with the U.S. Army during WWII.
A woman of faith, Ruth was a devoted wife and mother, always tending to the needs of her family as well as actively supporting their school and social involvement. She hosted 4-H meetings in the home and was a Den Mother for Scouting. Ruth was a member of Fairview Reformed Presbyterian Church, Tuscarawas Road.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband: Edward Rowe, on June 9, 2001; and three of her sisters: baby Beverly Joyce McCoy, Jean Harshberger and Grace Platt.
Ruth is survived by 10 children and their spouses: Eileen (John) Gnarra; Jeanne (Jim) Peale; Joyce (Dean) Kifer; Carolyn (Jim) Winston; Anna Jayne (Don) Allen; Rebecca (Ed) Slepecki; Nancy (Ron) McAdoo; Ed (Mae) Rowe; Rich Rowe; Janet Rowe; 22 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law: R. John McCoy; Don (Fern) McCoy; four sisters and a brother-in-law: Becky Scarbro; Betty Brodmerkel; Dolores Searight; and Joann (Regis) McElhaney; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Friends will be received Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68 (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Additional visitation will be on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of her service.
Military Honors will be presented by members of the Beaver County Special Unit, 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the funeral home. Her funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Ric Raines, officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of the Four Gospels, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
