

Sharon Namath, age 91, of New Brighton, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her granddaughter, Christin, and great grandsons; Joey and Jaxon. Born March 4, 1935, in Port Angeles, Washington, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Lucille (Botsford) Reed. Her proudest moment was joining the U.S. Army where she met her future husband. She worked as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service, was a member of the American Legion Post 19 in New Brighton and the VFW in Rochester. Sharon enjoyed marching in parades alongside John and other Veterans. She collected Barbie dolls and enjoyed crafting. She often attended craft shows, learning to play the guitar, shopping at the mall, walking in the park and watching old western movies and Hallmark Christmas movies. Sharon adored spending time with her grandsons as they kept her active.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Namath in 2005, a daughter, Alexandria S. Namath, and a sister, Patricia.
She is survived by three daughters; Rosalia (James) Landsittel, Cynthia Namath and Julia (Steve) Cole, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
As per Sharon's wishes, all services, including military honors were private and entrusted to the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074.
"Do not cry for me because as you see, I'm up in heaven where Johnny has been waiting for me. It's where I want to be, so please, be happy. Do not cry for me."
