Shirley A. Guthrie

Shirley A. Guthrie passed away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 90, at her residence. Born on July 30, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Hazel F. (McDade) Edwards. Shirley was a resident of New Brighton, she was a long standing member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in New Brighton. Shirley was employed as a title clerk at Beglin's and Crivelli Ford dealerships in Bridgewater. Shirley was focused on caring for others, always putting her family first.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Donald Guthrie, two daughters; Pam (Doug) Heinz, Lisa Guthrie, and two sons; Mark (Rosemary) and Scott Guthrie. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Lucas Guthrie and Leslie (Ryan) Newlin, and Brittany Heinz, two great grandchildren; Alexis and Wyatt Newlin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul H. 'Skippy' Edwards Jr., and a grandson; Christopher Heinz.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 11:30am until the time of funeral services at 12:30pm at Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 115 N Mercer Ave., New Brighton, PA 15066. Entombment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Rochester, following funeral services. Arrangements by the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund at Westminster United Presbyterian Church, or, to your favorite charity, in Shirley's name.
