Thomas Walter Beighey, 78, of Beaver Falls, PA, passed away on July 3, 2026. Born in Rochester, PA on April 11, 1948, Tom was the son of the late Walter C. Beighey Sr. and Marjorie Beighey. He grew up with his family in Junction Stretch and graduated from New Brighton High School.
Tom served his country honorably during the Vietnam Conflict as a member of the United States Navy. He deployed aboard the USS Oriskany as part of the aviation electrician crew, a role that reflected both his technical skill and steadfast commitment to service. His patriotism was unwavering, and he spoke of his love for this country with unapologetic pride.
Tom married the love of his life, Gloria L. Beighey, with whom he shared 56 years of devotion, partnership, and family. Together they raised three sons: Robert W. Beighey (Penny); M. Gregory Beighey (Hannah); and Thomas W. Beighey (Amy). He was a proud grandfather to Myranda, Rachel, Sadie, Ethan (deceased); Chase, Blake, Brayden; Jayden and Kayla, and a delighted great-grandfather to Sam.
Tom is also survived by his siblings Walter C. Beighey Jr. (wife Debbie, deceased), Karl Beighey, and Eric Beighey (wife Suzie). He was preceded in death by siblings Larry Beighey and Karen Nicol; he is remembered as well by Larry’s son Ben Beighey and Karen’s husband Ken Nicol.
Mechanically gifted and endlessly resourceful, Tom had a remarkable ability to visualize and diagnose any problem—then repair it, explain it, and teach it. He poured that talent, along with his work ethic, dry humor, and tenacity, into his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and anyone fortunate enough to learn from him. He was known for his love of a good cup of coffee and for always being there when someone called on him.
For many years, Tom dedicated his time and skill to restoring historic military aircraft and vehicles with the Air Heritage Aviation group in Beaver County, PA. His contributions there reflected both his craftsmanship and his deep respect for military history.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes, there will be no funeral, visitation, or burial. His cremains will be secured with his sons.
