William A. Arnold, Sr., 75 of Vanport, passed on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Friendship Ridge. He was born October 17, 1936 in Allentown, PA, son of the late Theodore and Mary Ellen (Keller) Arnold. William proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a carrier serving the communities of Vanport and Bridgewater for over 25 years. In his leisure, Bill enjoyed a variety of gaming from the casino to the bingo hall. He also liked keeping his hands busy at home improvements.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife: Marion Elizabeth (Skinner) Arnold; his daughter: Billie Jo Arnold; and two brothers: James and Theodore.
William is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: William and Dawn Arnold, Jr., Monaca; David and Deborah Arnold, Ohioville; two daughters and a son-in-law: Cheryl and Randy Simmons, Vanport; Bonnie Corbin, Industry; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; his sister Darlene and former wife Linda.
Friends will be received Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Military honors will be presented by members of the Beaver County Special Unit at 6 p.m.; a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. immediately following the visitation. Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
