

NORTH SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP
William M. Miller, 89, of North Sewickley Township, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of Grane Hospice. He was born June 3, 1928 in Zelienople, son of the late Harry and Mary (McFadden) Miller. William proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Following his honorable discharge he returned home and began a long career with Babcock and Wilcox, retiring as an inspector after 33 years of service. Bill was a life member of the North Sewickley Volunteer Fire Department with 50 years of membership. Through the years he spent countless hours of dedicated service and enjoyed the many friendships he shared with all of the members. He was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church.
In his leisure, Bill became a self-taught woodworker. He has crafted numerous keepsakes from wooden figurines to handcrafted furniture. Most important to Bill was the love for family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson: Joshua Miller in 1995 at the age of 15.
He is survived by his loving of 68 years: Margaret (Wigton) Miller; three sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis Miller, North Sewickley Township; Terry (Ruth) Miller, Shaler Township; Bradley (Robin) Miller, North Sewickley Township; three grandchildren: Dana (Michael) Marsh, Lehigh Acres, FL; Naomi Agostino, Shaler Township; Molly Miller, North Sewickley Township; and six great grandchildren; Draven, Dawsin, Hailey, Hayden, Haven and Felicity; one brother and sister-in-law: Linford (Rosetta) Miller, North Sewickley Township; one sister: Shirley Webster, New Bedford, MA; and extended family.
Friends will be received Friday, July 28, 2017 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 4 p.m., immediately following the visitation, with the Rev. Jeff Youell, officiating. Private Entombment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Military Honors will be presented at 2 p.m. by members of the Beaver County Special Unit in the funeral home.
