William P. “Bill” Smith, 58, of Rochester Township, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 15, 1954 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Harry and Lois (Hoellerman) Smith. Bill had been employed as a diesel mechanic with Penn DOT. He was a “man’s-man” who simply enjoyed his family, music by Johnny Cash and drinking a few beers.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters: Elizabeth and Ruth.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 and a half years: Charmaine (Hertweck) Smith; his son: Heath of Rochester; daughter and son-in-law: Shannon and Michael Homick, Ellwood City; one granddaughter: Melody; his brother and sister-in-law: Harry and Tina Smith in Florida; three sisters: Mary Thomas, Butler; Myra and Marsha Smith, both of Florida.
In honor of his wishes, cremation arrangements are by SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC.
