William Winters

William H. Winters, age 90, formerly of Sharpsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the H.J. Heinz VA Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Born October 25, 1935, in Sharpsburg, he was the son of the late Harold and Leone (McCluske) Winters.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Eleanor (Huffmyer) Winters, brothers; James and Jackie Winters, sisters; Connie, Betty Lou and Jeannie and his daughter, Gloria (Winters) Beattie.

William was beloved father of Bernard, Stanley, John, Franklin, nephews; Robert (Linda) and James Winters, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and beloved grandchildren.

William served his country proudly during the Korean War and was a proud 'Screaming Eagle'. William and his late wife Eleanor had a passion for dancing, gardening, and traveling. William had an insatiable curiosity that drove him to a lifetime of learning and discovery.

Friends will be received on Wednesday morning, July 8, 2026 from 9am until the time of full Military Honors at 9:30 at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074. Interment will immediately follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
