Alverna Tatum

Alverna Tatum, 87, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2018. Born August 31, 1930 in Stephens, Arkansas. Daughter of Zebedee "Bill" and Fannie (Wilson) Elliot. United to marriage to Walter Tatum on April 12, 1947. He predeceased her on March 22, 1975. Alverna found enjoyment in cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening and anytime spent with her family.

Survived by her children, Sharon Tatum, Sheila Tatum, Jerry Tatum, Christopher Batten; grandchildren, Derrick Thomas, Heather Cramer, Donte Tatum, Carmen Osburn, Teddy Batten, Clare Batten; great-grandchildren, Mia Thomas, Deme Thomas, Devin Thomas, Lakisha Thomas, Derrick Jr. Thomas, Lily Cramer, Xavier Tatum, Gabriel Osburn. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Walter; son, Walter “Butch” Tatum Jr; sisters; Lorna Thompson, Lillie Simpson, Essie Gulley-Scott; brothers, Henry Elliot, Edward Elliot, Levan Elliot, Grady Elliot, Clarence Elliot.
