Alyssa Lathrop, 27, of Rockford, passed away suddenly, Friday, April 5, 2019. She was born March 25, 1992 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Eric Lathrop and Audra VanBibber. Alyssa graduated from Freeport High School in 2010 and went on to receive her certified nursing assistant certification. While in high school, she was involved in cheerleading. Alyssa was a social butterfly who loved dancing, and enjoying time with friends. Most of all, Alyssa was proud to be a mother and loved her children very much.
Alyssa is loved and missed by her children, Riley Lathrop, and Selah; special little sister, Trynattee Engelking; father, Eric (Darla) Lathrop; brothers, Dylan Larkin and Phelan Engelking; step-siblings, Jamie, E.J., Stephanie, Sara, Kara Stickles and Amber Larkin; grandparents, Michael and Dory Lathrop and Dennis Silbaugh; as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Alyssa was preceded in death by her little fighter son, Ashton; mother, Audra Engelking; brother, Cody Boardman; grandmother, Celia Silbaugh; and godmother, Denise Wolfram.
A memorial service will be held in the near future.
