
Amanda Marie Bruce of Rockford was born July 22,1985 and died October 1, 2019 from complications related to pulmonary disease. Amanda was a former resident of Stepping Stones of Rockford. She felt called to advocate for those with mental health challenges. Amanda was particularly proud of her political rally trips to Springfield. She also enjoyed her time with the performance troupe Stars of Light. Amanda was previously employed by Growth Enterprises and a long time volunteer at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Amanda was an animal lover and an avid reader. Amanda attended Heartland Community Church. She was known for her friendly personality. Amanda was a social butterfly that enjoyed the company of others, particularly her family.
Amanda is survived by her parents Mark and Linda Wennmacher, sister Nikkita Bruce, brother Chavez Wennmacher and god brother Anthony Hernandez . She also leaves behind a host of extended family members including grandmother Linda Hawk, Stephen and Mary McBride, Sean and Janet Rumple, Wally Waliullah and several cousins. From heaven, Amanda will watch over her beloved niece Riley Wennmacher.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Altayeh and the Mercy Hospice team for their tremendous help in serving Amanda throughout her journey. Amanda was proud of the fact that she was an organ and tissue donor. Her gift of life is a blessing to others.
Memorial Services for Amanda will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday November 2, 2019 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street Rockford Illinois. Visitation from 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will follow services in Willwood Burial Park. Memorials can be made to the family for the benefit of Noah's Ark & NAMI.
