Anthony Maggio Jr., age 72, of Byron, Illinois, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026. Born September 16, 1953 to Anthony Maggio Sr. and Willie Ball in Rockford, Illinois. Anthony worked for many years as a coil line operator at J.L. Clark. He married the love of his life, Debra Maggio, on July 22, 2000 and they spent 21 wonderful years together before she passed in 2022.
Anthony was a member of the Phantom Regiment from ages fifteen to twenty-one. He enjoyed music, reading, and golf. He liked to make model airplanes and rockets. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Anthony is survived by his children, Becca (Shawn) Putnam and Anthony (Samantha) Maggio; grandchildren, Zayn, Landyn, Peyton, and Able; siblings, Debbie Nelson, James (Tammy) Maggio, and Denise Drew; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Maggio; parents, Anthony and Isabelle Maggio and Willie Ball; and brother, Tommy Maggio.
A visitation for Anthony will be held on Monday, January 12 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W State St, Rockford, IL 61102. Burial rites to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N Alpine Rd Machesney Park, IL 61115
