Arnold George Doering

Arnold George Doering, 81, of Rockford passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Amberwood Nursing Care. Arnold was born on July 26, 1937 in Granton, WI, the son of Herbert Arnold Doering and Edna Elise Dye. He married M. Anne Morrison on September 10, 1983. Arnold was a member of Riverside Assembly of God where he was the bass guitarist in the church band “Praise Team”. Arnold and his wife Anne loved to play and sing together at different churches in the area. Arnold was involved in Nursing Home Ministries and loved farming. Arnold is survived by his wife Anne; son Randy Doering; daughter Christi (Tim) Doering-Hughey; 1 granddaughter Becky; 2 step-daughters Shirley and Ann; Anne’s daughters Regina Johnson and Sabrina (Ward) Metheny; sister Stella Boehm; brother Herbert Doering, Jr.; sisters Arlene Schmidt and Kathleen Cain; several nieces and nephews. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, son James Doering, sister Della Riley and Anne’s 2 daughters Lorina Sears and Katrina Johnson.

Service to celebrate Arnold’s life will be 11:00 am on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Riverside Assembly of God Church 4242 Riverside Blvd. in Rockford; visitation for Arnold will be at the church from 10 am until 11:00 am. Burial will follow services at Willwood Burial Park. Advantage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
