Barbara J. Meyer

Barbara J. Meyer, 80, of Machesney Park, peacefully passed away at home, from natural causes on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. She was born on May 27, 1942, in Austin, MN, the daughter of Howard Franklin and Doris (Opsahl) Nagle.

Barbara married Larry J. Meyer Austin. Lived 55 years in Machesney Park, raising her five children and spending many hours working on the home and vegetable and flower gardens. She was a Minnesota Vikings fan. Barbara was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was a great cook and enjoyed playing games with her family, taking car trips and crafts. Her family will forever cherish her precious memory.

Survivors include her sons, Robert of Roscoe, Larry Jr. of Machesney Park, Michael (Kimberly) of Iowa, Mark (Jennifer) of Rockford; daughter, Heather Smith (Scott) of Machesney Park; 17 grandchildren; five great-grand- children; one great-great-grand-child and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years in 2009, Larry, parents, sister, Judy and brother, Harold.

Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11th, 2022, at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102. Inurnment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
