Bart J. Schmidt, 56, of Rockford, IL, passed away January 20, 2022. He was born on March 22, 1965 in Rockford to Richard and Sharon Schmidt. He was a kind and generous person with a big heart. Bart was a faithful Christian. He will be remembered for his big grins, caring nature and warm hugs. He enjoyed writing poetry, and spending time with those he loved. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his siblings, Brett (Debbie) Schmidt, Niki (Greg) Hunt, and Stephanie (David) Deery, his aunts; Jennie Baxter and Norma Daugherty, and nieces; Sammi, Allison, and Jessica. He is also survived by numerous cousins and extended family members whom he loved dearly.
He is welcomed into heaven by his parents; Richard and Sharon, grandparents, as well as aunts and uncles.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. Donations in memorial of Bart may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission.
