Betty Lou Catherine Szymanski Bentley, 78, of Rockford, was reunited with her one true love, Tuesday January 23rd, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones and with the sound of prayer welcoming her home. Born November 4, 1939 in Chicago, IL. Daughter of Lou and Lily (White) Szymanski. Met Frank Bentley 1958, 3 months later was married to the love of her life on December 20th 1958. Betty Lou was a volunteer and lunch lady for 8 years at Manchester Elementary, in which she was awarded “Those Who Excel.” Betty Lou was a gifted artist and muralist, quilter, seamstress and always would do amazing crafts. Betty Lou was an avid reader and writer and a quick card player. She loved to tell jokes and share stories with her friends while at KenRock.
Betty Lou is survived by her loving children, Clinton Bentley, Stacey Bentley, Shirley Bentley, and Francine Bentley Anderson; brothers, Lou and Russell Szymanski; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 27 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 West State St, Rockford. Visitation at 12 p.m. until time of service. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Burial at a later date.
