Carl Windsor Giesler Jr, 72, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020 and into the loving arms of his dear sister Jenny. Carl shared a very special bond with Jenny and loved to fly to Kansas City, MO to visit her. She enjoyed taking him out for K.C. Barbecue,Chinese food and pizza. He enjoyed helping his mother shop for groceries, plant flowers and enjoyed going on picnics and fishing at the park. Carl loved going out to eat at his favorite places which was Culvers and Pino's. He also enjoyed all the group outings Olson Terrace provided and loved going to church. He enjoyed books and movies and loved drinking Coca-Cola. Carl very much enjoyed his job at Malcomb Eaton Enterprises.

Our family would like to thank all the staff at Olson Terrace Group Home for the absolute wonderful care they gave to Carl for 32 years. I have so many fond memories of my brother Carl. One that I have that I would like to share is Carl had beautiful hand writing. He could spell just about any word you asked him which I did being the youngest when I had homework. So my sister Jenny and I were picking Carl up one day at Olson Terrace and the gal working said to Carl before you go Carl I need you to sign your John Hancock. So when she looked down and he had signed John Hancock instead of Carl Giesler we all had the best laugh 😆 Rest in peace my dear brother ❤

Carl was a great person, I will miss him so much. I have a lot of great memories of Carl the last time I seen him he said to me “Bre, can you stop and get me a pop on your way into work tommorow” and I told him I would bring him one in and than I never got that chance. I want Carl’s family to know every staff at Olsen felt like Carl was family and we will truly miss him deeply and will love him forever.

I was blessed to know Carl for a few years. We visited several times a week. Pizza and coke were a usual topic. The day he looked at me and said my name and asked me what I'd had for breakfast the first time is a treasured memory. See you again Carl for a Coke!
