

Carolyn “Carol” L. Keinz, 77, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on July 8, 2026. Carol was born in Rockford on July 28, 1948, to George and Annette Roberts. She graduated from Auburn High School and furthered her education with a certificate in Secretarial Studies from Rockford Business College. With her certificate, she was led to work for the State of Illinois for over 40 years.
Carol was extremely giving. She always wanted to make sure our local animals were cared for, especially through Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary. She made many friends with their organization and believed strongly in their mission. Carol also donated to various charities throughout the years.
Carol was also a strong supporter of the National Rifle Association, as she practiced her constitutional right to bear arms.
She loved to be outside, whether it be canoeing, fishing, or riding her motorcycle. She had beautiful gardens, and loved dedicating time to ensure that her vegetables went to people in need by having a free vegetable stand at her house. Carol was a part of the Gold Wings Road Riders Association for many years. She also liked the occasional trip to Busters for a snack.
Carol is survived by her son, Dennis (Peggy) Keinz; grandchildren, Greg (Lindsey) Jones, Dolly (Alex) Coletta, Kelli Keinz, Allison Keinz, and Preston Keinz; great-grandchildren, Lillieanna, Raelynn, Joseph and Zander; sister, Beverly Conant; niece, Ginger Conant; great-nieces, Hope Conant and Grace Topize; great-nephew, Julio “JJ” Solano Jr.; aunt, Mary.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Paulette Keinz-Diaz; parents, George and Annette; brother, Robert Roberts; brother-in-law, Miles Conant.
