Charlene Ruth Ann Peyton, age 79, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. She was born December 16, 1945 in Rockford, Illinois to Charles and Shirley (Houseknecht) Nethery. Charlene graduated from West High School in Rockford Illinois. She married the love of her life, Arthur Peyton on August 21, 1964 in Rockford, Illinois and they spent 42 wonderful years together before he passed in 2006. She worked at Walker Elementary School for over ten years as a lunch lady. She enjoyed rooting for the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Charlene was an avid collector, her most notable collection was her spoons from every state. She loved visiting Big Sandy Lake in McGregor, Minnesota with her family.
Charlene is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Robin) Peyton and Lisa (Justin Laughery) Arena; and grandchildren, Brandon, Jakob, Gabriella, and Sophia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Peyton; and parents, Charles and Shirley Nethery.
A visitation for Charlene will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 West State Street, Rockford, Illinois 61102, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
