Born June 24, 1941 in Rockford, son of Franklin S. and Marie (Stegeman) Lyford
Charles enjoyed a lifetime of hard work and dedication to the dairy community within Boone and Winnebago counties. He worked as the “Milk Tester” for D.H.I.A. out of Dubuque Iowa for over 30 years. He also enjoyed his time and involvement at Boone County Fair. He would always be seen in or around the milk house helping to ensure that the fair time operations were as flawless as possible.
Survivors include his son, Jared Lyford; brothers, Franklin Jr., Robert (Nathalie), and Larry (Linda) Lyford; sisters, Jean Schauer, Margaret Gillespie, and Betsy (Robert) Vincer; Former wife, Barbara; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents and brother Harold.
Memorial service 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Boone County Fairgrounds in the Grange Hall, 8791 Rt. 76, Belvidere, Il.
