Charles served in the military 1st Cavalry division in Okinawa Japan.
He was self-employed for many years as a contractor, building several homes in Rockford. He was later employed by the city, and finally retired from Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Charles loved working in his yard, joking with friends, and traveling.
Charles is survived by his children, Charles A. Williams Jr, and Jennifer (Williams) Zellers; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Barbara (Williams) Miller, and Virginia (Williams) Angeleri.
Funeral service 2p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State St, Rockford. Pastor Dan Sargeant officiant. Visitation 1:30p.m. till the time of service. Interment in Willwood Burial Park. Online condolences may be submitted at www.advantagerockford.com
