Dale Lighthart, 55, passed away on February 12, 2020 in his home surrounded by family and friends after a short battle with cancer. Dale was a lifelong resident of Rockford IL and made some lifelong friends along the way. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR, and working on cars. Dale’s sense of humor was contagious, and he was always making people laugh. He went to high school at Auburn, and went on to spend his time as a labor worker for many different companies around the Rockford area. Dale was known for his big heart, and his committed nature. He was always there for the people he loved.
Dale is survived by his mother; Kathryn Adams, siblings; Daren Lighthart, Betty Jo (J.D.) Schaller, and Mindy Lewis, as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his biological daughter that Dale recently reconnected with, Britney (Tim) Keehler. He was the Funky Unky to numerous nieces and nephews.
We want to acknowledge those he lovingly knew as brothers, D-Boy, his family, Duane, as well as his 2nd mom Barb.

He is predeceased by his father; Roger “Doc” Lighthart, and his stepfather; Chuck Adams.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held on March 28th at 2 p.m. at Latham West Bar and Grill located at 4213 W State St, Rockford, IL 61102.
