Diane M. Lewis

Diane M. Lewis, 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, in Rockford, Illinois. Diane was born March 23, 1946, to Vernen and Norma Berg in Tracy, Minnesota. She graduated from Auburn High School of Rockford. She worked at Atwood and met the love of her life, Curtis Lewis. They spent 39 years together before his passing in 2022. Diane also was a former employee of Singer Mental Health Center as a cook, Elgin Mental Health Center as a support service employee, and Visiting Angels as a caregiver. She was a current employee of Peak Medical Home Care.

She is survived by her daughter, Threasa (Lyle) Helman; stepchildren, Curt (Vicki) Lewis Jr., Tony (Karrie) Lewis, Brian (Vicki) Lewis, Jeff (Zoe) Lewis, Kathy Rowald, and Joe (Andrea) Seymour; grandchildren, Tosha (Rob) Gill, Stephanie (Andrew) McNaughton, Kyle Woods, and Aaron Woods; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Julian McNaughton; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Norma Ditsworth, Lawrence (Kim) Berg, LeAnn (Chuck) Scott, and David Berg; sisters-in-law, Daisy, Brenda and Teri; multiple nieces and nephews; special fur-baby, Licorice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curt Lewis; parents, Vernen and Norma Berg; brothers, Vernen and John Berg; sister, Donna Berg.

A visitation for Diane will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Advantage Funeral Home until the time of her funeral at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park, Illinois.
