Donald “Don” Dean Petty, 63, of Rockford, passed away Saturday December 12, 2015. Born July 28, 1952 in Rockford. Son of Dean and Bernice (Bartus) Petty Sr. Worked as a Machinist for Warner Lambert for 33 years. Enjoyed the companionship of a good fishing pole. Member of the 3L Club, Plug Pallet and Kapotah Gun Club. Was a life member of the American Legion. He was very loving and caring to his daughters and step daughters and anyone he met was considered his friend. Survivors include mother; daughters, Julie (Mary Doscher) Franzen and Ashley Hirth; step-daughters, Penny (Kevin Bradley) Wolf and Nikki (Allen) Delmore; grandson, Jonathan Franzen; god-son, Joseph Dishon; brothers, Dean Jr, George, Richard and Raymond. Predeceased by his father and brother Vaughn. Services at 2 p.m. Thursday at Advantage Funeral Home. Visitation noon till time of service. Burial at Willwood Memorial Park.
