Donald Francis Mintz, 75, of Rockford, IL died peacefully at home Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Born April 16, 1935 in Mankato, MN, the son of Donald James and Regina Evelyn (Riebling) Mintz. Donald lived a Christian life, he was a member of the Svithoid Club, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He retired from the Nylint Corporation after 35 years. Donald married Audrey Roberts on June 12, 1961. Survivors include his wife Audrey; sons: Scott Mintz, Tom Carter, Stephen Mintz, Stuart Mintz; daughter: Stacy (Timothy) Hill; grandchildren: Hannah Mintz, Riley Hill, Jacob Hill, Kayla Mintz, Liam Mintz, and Kal Mintz; sisters: Maryann Schmig and Lavonne (Les) Oliver; daughters: Cheryl, Susan, and Debbie. Predeceased by parents and sister Regina Hornbeck. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102. A gathering of friends and family will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission.
