Dorothy E. Matzke, 84, of Rockford passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at Provena Cor Mariae Center. Dorothy was born on February 12, 1927 in Rockford. She married the late Jack Matzke in Rockford on October 29, 1955. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Dorothy worked many years as a security officer at Bergner’s, and then as a sales clerk until she retired. Dorothy is survived by her children; Jackie (Darrin) Tullock of Rockford, and Bruce, Tom, and Steve Matzke, all of Jacksonville FL, and one granddaughter, Jodi Matzke also of Jacksonville. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Jack. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 22, at 9 a.m. at Provena Cor Mariae Center, 3330 Maria Linden Dr. Rockford IL 61114. Dr. Charles V. Olson of Calvary Lutheran Church will conduct the services. The family will be forever grateful to Dorothy’s family at Provena Cor Mariae Center and at Churchview Dialysis for all the special care and love that they showed for Dorothy.
