Edmond Govea, 87, died on 01/15/2022 at home with his son and daughter in law in Belvidere Illinois. He was born on March 29, 1934 in Chicago Illinois, the son of Navidad Gonzales and Frances (nee Govea) Gonzales. Edmond was preceded in death by sister Lorraine*, brother David* and sister Mary.
Edmond married Sally (nee Donahue) in 1956 and started a family. They had 6 children, Edmond Paul Jr*, Frances (Randy), Kathleen*, Thomas (Diane), Mary and Therese (Jason). Edmond divorced, then Married Ina D Klein (nee Holtz)*. They had 2 children Michael and Edmond A (Pam). Edmond worked at The Wrigley Company as a Transportation Specialist for over 20 years.
Edmond is the grandfather of Cynthia, Johnathan, Marty, Lisa, Becky, Amanda, Gene, Jeremy, Giovanni, Gina Isabella, Brandon, Sara, Valerie, Michael Jr, Rebecca, Anthony, Michelle, Alexandria, Kayla Cheyanne*, Edmond Jr*. Great Grandfather to Elisah, Gennamarie, Luciano, Paul, Jackie, Maliah, Julian, Bazel, Noah, Emmy, Alicia, Dorian, Cheyenne, Hayden, Allen, Thomas, Payton, John, Brandon, Cameran, Christopher, Edie, Mary, Skylar, Aaron, Joshua, Nikki*, Leon, Natalie, Zane. Great Great Grandfather of Alice. Many nieces and nephews.
Edmond loved his family with his whole heart to the best of his abilities. He was kind, generous, and never wanted for anything but a kind word or gesture. Edmond loved watching westerns, taking long walks when he was able, loved I mean LOVED eating popcorn, bananas, bologna, green leaf candies and chocolate cherry cordials. Edmond also enjoyed playing cards with the family and visiting with his great grandchildren playing peek-a-boo.

Memorial service to celebrate Edmond's life will be 12:30 PM on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum 1400 S. Wolf Road in Hillside, IL. A luncheon will follow in Edmonds honor.
