Esther Costello, age 85, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025. She was born August 9,1940 in Nixon, Texas. Esther married Jose Costello on February 17,1969. She was employed at Atwood for over 20 years. Esther attended Berean Baptist Church in Rockford. She enjoyed family gatherings and going on vacations. In her younger years, Esther enjoyed quilting, crafting wreaths and making scrapbooks for family. She was an avid supporter of many charities. Most of all, She adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. Esther was a selfless and compassionate woman who will be missed immensely.
Esther is loved and missed by her children, George (Elaine) Vicencio, John (Darla) Vicencio, daughter Alma Leticia (Gerardo) Bueno, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and one on the way; sister, Juanita Valdez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jose and 2 siblings.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2025 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State St, Rockford, IL 61102. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Willwood Burial Park.
