

Evelyn I. Knauss, 90, of Rockford, passed away March 13, 2020. Evelyn was born in Indiana to Cora and Daniel Mottinger on February 25, 1930. She spent much of her life at service to her community. She worked in retail sales from the time her children started school, until her retirement at the age of 80 years old. She was an active member with North Love Baptist Church and loved to work with people. Evelyn volunteered with the Reformers Unanimous Addiction Program for over 10 years helping those suffering from addiction. She also worked at Holiday Acres in Belvidere and spent some time as a sales clerk. Evelyn was an avid reader, and also spent some time working in the church’s book store. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by so many.
She is survived by her children; Donald (Cheryl) Knauss, Diane Knauss, and Janice (Randall) Wright, she is also survived by 3 grand children, 5 great-grand children, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, she is also survived by her sister in law Karen and brother in law Norman.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Stanley Knauss, her parents, as well as her sister Elvyra (Lloyd) Eklund, her mother and father in laws, Earl and Doris Knauss, sister in law Bessidene Knauss, and brother in law, Keith (Nellie) Knauss
The family would like to thank Beth and Serenity hospice for their loving care of Evelyn.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
Due to recent health concerns funeral services for Evelyn will be private to family only. There will be a memorial service held at a later date. The family thanks you for your understanding.
