

Harriett P. Langley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on February 23, 2025, just two days before her 87th birthday. She was born on February 25, 1938, and lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to others. Harriett graduated from Winnebago High School in 1956 and went on to marry the love of her life, Jerry G. Langley, on August 4, 1956, at Middle Creek Presbyterian Church. Together, they built a life filled with family, faith, and service.
Harriett was a devoted member of Middle Creek Presbyterian Church, where she actively participated in a variety of ministries. She served on the Stronghold Board and the Mission Cluster Board, and was a cherished leader of the youth group. Throughout her life, Harriett’s commitment to serving others extended beyond the church. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, inspiring many young people along the way. Additionally, she dedicated time as a Bible School teacher and Sunday School teacher, imparting her faith and values to the next generation.
A passionate animal advocate, especially cats, Harriett volunteered at the Humane Society, and she was a proud member of the Rockford Garden Club, contributing her love for nature and community beautification.
Harriett’s legacy lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her many years of dedicated service.
She is survived by her loving husband Jerry G. Langley; children, Cheryl Anne (Paul) Langley-Klismith and Jerry Steven (Carol) Langley; grandchildren, Gerrit Langley (Kelly Maheu) Duys, Kyra E. Langley (Zach) Gainer, Ali K. (Brett) Larson, and Justin Tyler Langley; step-grandchildren, Scott Klismith and Daniel Klismith; great grandchildren, Avery, Noah, and Saskia; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Wilson; mother, Pauline Crain; step-father, Bert Crain; siblings, Ken Crain, Betty Peters, Jim Haitt, Gary Wilson, and Daniel Wilson; and granddaughter, Ceara Anne Duys.
Harriett will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her kindness, and her unshakeable commitment to others.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 1pm until the time of the service at 2pm at Middle Creek Presbyterian Church (12473 Montague Road, Winnebago, IL 61088). Short interment service to follow in Middle Creek Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and memorials, the family requests donations be made to Victory Reigns Ranch in her memory.
