Icy L. Bryant

Icy at the amazing age of 83 went home to be with her Lord and Savior the Christ on April 3, 2023. She was born October 3, 1939, in Chidester, Arkansas. Her parents were Clinton and Christell. From this marriage Clyde Bedford (Christine)-(Theresa) Luther Bedford (Rochelle)-(Lucy) Clinton Bedford (Barbara). After the passing of Clinton Bedford, Christell remarried Cage and from this married was born Mary Ellen Jackson (Allen. When Cage passed away Christell remarried Elliott Simmons and from this marriage Calvin Simmons (Robbie)-(Jane) was born.

She had seven siblings. Mary and Calvin are her living siblings. Icy lived her life in Southwest Rockford. She attended Barbour Elementary School, Washington Junior High and Rockford West High. She married Bob Harris and from this union there were three children Gail Johnson-Larson (Bradley)-(Calvin) Jeffrey Harris (Demetra) Everett Anthony Harris (Melba)-(Theresa). She later remarried Willie R. Bryant, (he passed away in 1994.) She completed a certificate as a Pharmacy Technician. She worked and retired after 38 years for Swedish American Hospital. Her skillset grew thus allowing her to train all the new pharmacists. She was an active and loyal member of Providence Missionary Church. She server an usher outreach ministry, Golden agers Choir and special events.

Icy was loved by many and she impacted many lives with love for her family, extended family, friends and church. She displayed this in many ways. Culinary delights were a true expression of her love language. Her German Chocolate Cake was famous in the community as well as many of her dishes. Her main ingredient was L-O-V-E. She loved gardening, traveling, outdoors and entertaining. She lived life to the fullest. Those that will take the baton of love and continue to build a legacy from generation to generation.

A visitation for Icy will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Total Faith Community Church, 1250 South Perryville Rd, Rockford, IL, followed by a celebratory funeral service at 10:30 AM.
