Imogene Ione Sjostrom, passed away on February 1, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. Imogene was born on a farm in Northfield, Wisconsin to George and Florence Nelson. She moved to Rockford in 1950. Imogene graduated from Rockford East High School in 1954. Not long after she married the love of her life, Roger Sjostrom on March 7, 1958. She worked for the post office in Cherry Valley as a rural route carrier for 20 years. Imogene enjoyed bowling, playing cards with friends, and traveling but there was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family.
Imogene is survived by her husband, Roger Allen Sjostrom; children, Pamela Lynn Raver and Gregory Allen Sjostrom; grandchildren, Meghan Rehm, Alexander Raver, Andrew Raver, Hannah Raver, Kristen Eubanks, Caleb Sjostrom, and Logan Sjostrom; great grandchild, Isac Raver; sister, Lilah Torgerson. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Florence Nelson; brother, Roland Nelson. A Walk Through Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Advantage Funeral Home (7000 W. State St, Rockford, Il 61102) from 1pm until the time of the Limited Capacity Family Service at 3pm.
