J. B. Johnson, 82, of Machesney Park passed away January 12, 2022 at Serenity Hospice in Oregon, IL. J.B. was born on February 15, 1939 in Beaverton, AL, the son of Leonard and Dona (Mixon) Johnson. He is survived by his wife/significant other Arlis; son Jeffery Jay Johnson; granddaughter; three great-grandsons; sister Delphine and several nieces and nephews. J.B. was preceded in death by his parents; baby daughter Gwenlyn; son Curtis; sister Geraldine and brothers Carl and Johnnie B.
J. B. served in the U. S. Navy, he was dedicated to his work as an Expert Tool & Die Maker for Fastener and Machinery. He was president of S & J Header Tooling Business, co-owner with a partner in Rockford for many years.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, vacationing with friends in Mt. Home, AR and watching football, was an avid Bears fan.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Advantage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
