

James “Jim” R. Gibson, of Rockton, passed away on May 4, 2012, at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 12, 1945 to Albert and Elizabeth (Ulferts) Gibson in Capron.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army
On November 30, 1974 he married Patricia Boan
A well known Real Estate Agent, he was owner and operator of Badger Building Components, a member of Carpenters Union Local #792, before becoming a Million Dollar Producer for Coldwell Banker, where he was employed for over 30 years, and a member of the Roscoe VFW.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he loved showing horses, watching PBR Rodeo, western movies and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia, his daughter, Sarah (Jim), his son, Eric (Jodi), his grandchildren, Kassidy, Brody, Addison, Mekenna, Anna, Emma and Gannon, his sisters, Roseanne Maavich and Charlene Maavich, his brother Marty Gibson, his father in-law, George Boan and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother and his mother in-law, Wanda Boan
A special thanks to Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Heartland Hospice of Rockford, Heather Rosinski, his care giver and his sister in-law Vicky, lovingly known as the “Stool Pigeon”.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service, 7000 West State St., Rockford, Doug Swanson will officiate. Interment in Willowbrook Cemetery, Roscoe. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the funeral home.
