Jerry R. Kosinski, 76, of Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Rockford, IL, passed away Wednesday evening, January 7, 2026 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born November 2, 1949 in Rockford, IL, the son of Joseph and Rose (Addotta) Kosinski. Jerry graduated from Boylan High School and began his career in plastic sales. He owned and operated Midwest Plastics and worked at various plastic manufacturers. Jerry married Karen Freis on May 25, 1978 in Belvidere, IL. He had a fascination with astronomy. Jerry enjoyed riding roller coasters, especially at Disney with his sons. Most of all, Jerry adored his family and loved spending time with them.
He is loved and missed by his wife, Karen; children, Jason Kosinski and Justin Kosinski; grandchildren, Kane and Emilia; niece, Mary Kosinski and nephew, Peter Kosinski; sister-in-law, Jacque (Dale) Swanson; niece and nephew-in-laws, Tina (Jay) Bush, Matt (Erika) Swanson and Luke Swanson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim (Sandy) Kosinski, sister Carol Clark; mother and father-in-law, Jack and Theodora Freis; brother-in-law Kevin Freis and sister-in-law Kathleen Freis.
Per Jerry’s wishes, no services will be held. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL.
