Jorg B. Nilges

Jorg was born on June 10th, 1958, in Idar-Oberstein Germany, to Hildegard Elfriede Laskowski. Hildegard (Hildy) married Delmar Norbert Nilges on March 4th, 1961, in Germany while Delmar was stationed there in the United States Army. Delmar lovingly adopted Jorg and Jorg’s sister Uta shortly thereafter. The family then moved to the United States in 1962.

Jorg graduated from Harlem High School in 1976 and enlisted in the United States Army earning a certificate in diesel mechanics. Jorg completed his four-year tour of duty in Panama earning a PFC and honorable discharge.  

He worked mostly in manufacturing in the Rockford area during his lifetime. Jorg had a fondness for classic muscle cars, motorcycles, and his beloved dogs, which he was blessed to have a few. He was an animal lover through and through.

Jorg was a good son, great brother, and kind friend. He was known to be an accomplished storyteller with a funny and pleasant personality to everyone he met. Jorg is sorely missed by his family.

Jorg was predeceased by his dad, Delmar Nilges, Mother Hildy Nilges, Aunt Irma Traum, and all his beloved dogs.

Jorg is survived by his four sibling, sister Uta (Nilges) Abate, of Winnebago, IL, sister Rebecca (Nilges) Seaton and brother in law, Gary Seaton, Belvidere, IL, brother Robert Nilges and sister in law Julie (Dakarian) Nilges of Florida, sister Melba (Nilges) Lightcap and brother in law Scott Lightcap also of Florida, nieces and nephews, Corey Seaton, Branton Lightcap, Derek Seaton, Trevor Lightcap, Taylor Parlapiano-Miuccio and Layla Seaton; great nieces Willow Lee Lightcap and Blakely Rose-Marie Miuccio.
