Johnny was a local auto mechanic and drummer, who played for numerous bands in the area.
An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Johnny enjoyed car shows, detailing cars, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Tina Gonzalez; children, Ruben (Brandy) Gonzalez, Erica (Michael) Thompson, Jon Jr. (Jen)., and David Lee, also another son, Bryan Herrera; mother, Lydia Herrera; grandchildren, Alex, Marissa, Jake, and Madison Gonzalez, Drake Charnock, Grant, Alyssa, Gavin and Eli James Thompson, and Nevaeh Herrera; brothers, Oscar, Lonnie, and Daniel Herrera Jr.; sisters, Margie Cantu and Yolanda Herrera-Pena; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Herrera Sr.; brothers, Pete and Rudy Herrera.
