Katherine "Kathy" G. Kowalewski, 63, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. She was born May 21, 1962, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Jerry and Ruth Ann "Sam" (Lucas) Kowalewski. Kathy enjoyed bowling and playing pool. She was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Kathy liked journaling and crocheting. She was a kind-hearted, caring, outspoken, and compassionate lady who will truly be missed.
Kathy is survived by her son, Justin (Jennifer) Kowalewski; grand-daughters, Aylah and Kalianne Kowalewski; siblings, Lisa (Alan) Mera and Mark Kowalewski; brother-in-law, Calvin Powers; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Misty McLeod. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Dawn Powers.
A celebration of life for Kathy is planned for Saturday, November 22, at Schiro's Restaurant, 1201 North Springfield Avenue, Rockford, Illinois 61101 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM.
