Katheryn M. Schlegel, 98, Rockford, passed away on June 1, 2013 at her residence. She was born on May 22, 1915 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Arthur and Dena (Klinger) Carlson. She married Martin Schlegel on November 3, 1949 and remained with him until his passing.
She was a pianist, beautician, and a seamstress. Katheryn worked at Sears for many years and was a member of Faith Center.
Katheryn is survived by her children, Sheran (Pete) Stanaitis, Barb (George) Hertzner, Penny (Phil) Getz, Peggy (Milt) Morse and Kathy (Mike) Hardesty. She is also survived by her sister, Adell Peterson. Her five generation legacy continues; Amen.
She is predeceased by her husband, parents and sisters, Eunice Eickman and Phyllis McFadden.
A memorial service will be held at noon on June 29, 2013 at Faith Center. The Apostle Donald Lyon will be officiating. Visitation will be from 11am to noon on the day of service. Cremation rites will be accorded under the direction of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services.
