Larry Allen Kasberger (68) passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 7, 2017 at his home in Orfordville, Wisconsin. Born on August 18, 1948, Larry, the only child of the late Hilda and Lawrence Kasberger, spent his childhood on his family farm in Marshfield, Wisconsin. These days were filled with memories of early mornings with the chickens and Herfords, fluffy white Spitz farm dogs, and a special cow named Daisy. He graduated from Marshfield High School in June of 1966 and served in the Vietnam War from August 1968 to August 1970. While in the service, he began on kitchen duty peeling thousands of potatoes until his automotive talents were discovered and he was moved to the motor pool where he completed his service.
Larry was a passionate automotive enthusiast and enjoyed restoring collector cars. He worked for 34 years at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere, Illinois and retired in June of 2001. After retirement, Larry turned his lifelong hobby of collecting coins and his love for antiques into a second career. Together with his son, Benjamin, they opened L&B Coins. Whether it was the hunt for lost treasures, an opportunity to tell his sometimes exaggerated stories, or the chance to help someone in need, Larry truly, truly enjoyed his work at their store.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Janis, his daughter, Elizabeth (Trevor) Sanchez, his son, Benjamin (Sara) Kasberger, and his two grandchildren, Emma Grace Kasberger and Bennett Christian Sanchez.
