Leonard was born on September 26, 1926 in Rockford, the son of John and Josephine (Rizzo) Ancona. He married Lena V. Green on May 9, 1949 and she preceded him on January 4, 1975, he then married LaVinie Ostrum on November 1, 1976 and she preceded him in death on June 25, 2006. Leonard was a Mail Carrier retiring in 1987. Leonard was a Navy veteran serving in WWII.
Leonard is survived by his daughters Carol A. Gluff and Jacki Otto, son James L. Ancona; grandsons Thomas L. Rolando, Adam J. Rolando and James M. Elliott III; granddaughter Ann Marie Puente; 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and sister Ann Nyren.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents John and Josephine Ancona; wives Lena and LaVinie; brothers Nick, Frank, John and Thomas.
