Jr. was born on November 25, 1940 in Dante, VA, the son of Lionell D. and Anna May Fields Johnson. He worked as a machinist for Hydro-Line. Jr. was an avid golfer and loved being with his favorite pet companion “Oscar”.
Jr. is survived by his sister Tammy Andrews and husband Dan; nephew Neil and niece Megan; lifelong friends Jimmy Brooks and cousin Terry Johnson; aunt Betty and uncle Jack Dougherty.
Jr. was preceded in death by his parents.
A service to celebrate Lionell’s life will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday April 17, 2013 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State St. Rockford with visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday April 16, 2013 at Advantage Funeral Home. Burial will be in Willwood Cemetery.
