Marlene Sargent

Marlene Sargent, 64, Roscoe, passed away on April 15, 2013 at Loyola University Medical Center. She was born on May 14, 1948 in Gilford, Illinois to Henry and Gertrude (Mayer) Wand. Marlene attended school in Elizabeth, Illinois.

She owned and operated her own upholstery business for many years. She was also employed as a mail carrier in Loves Park.

Marlene enjoyed gardening, but she especially “lived” for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also dedicated to caring for her mother. She will be missed and never forgotten

Marlene is survived by her children, Donnie (Jennifer) Wand, Tim (Amanda) Wand and Jody (Wayne) Rasner; grandchildren, Samantha Wand, MacKenzie Wand, Bailey Wand, Michael Day, Chance Sargent, Ashton Wand, and Kilee Wand; great grandchildren, Chris Martinez, Stella Day and Jason Day; siblings, Jim (Suzanne) Wand, Elizabeth Wand, Judith Wand, and Carol Hansel; sister in law, Jennifer Redfern; and ex-husband, Gene (Cheryl) Sargent. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jason Sargent; and a brother, Tom Wand.

There will be a memorial service at 10am, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 West State Street, Rockford, IL. Pastor Ron Meyer, will be officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, the memorials can be given to the family.
