

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Fields Bennett & LaVerne Bennett of Shullsburg, WI; her husband of 56 years, Elmer "Babe" Knobbe, Jr. of Rockford, IL & S. Beloit, IL; and brothers Jim Bennett, Charles Bennett and Melvin Bennett.
She is survived by her sisters, Karen Ballard and Gloria Spore, both of Shullsburg, WI; brother Dale Bennett of Cuba City, WI; daughter Mary Rees Freeman & husband James G. Freeman of Tuscaloosa, AL; son Ken Knobbe & wife Angie Slagell Knobbe, of Rockford, IL; grandchildren Felicia Freeman King, Andy Freeman, Jake Knobbe, & Bree Knobbe; & great-grandchildren Will King, Chris King, Christain Lara, and Cameron Freeman.
Memorial Service to be held at Journey of Hope UMC Church, Elgin, IL at 11am October 28, 2022 (visitation 10-11 am) with internment at 3pm, Willwood Cemetery, Rockford, IL.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to Hospice of West Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL.
Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing Solitare, gardening , puzzles and her many pups over the years but most of all she loved her family.
