Mary F. Morris, 84, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Mary was born in Newberry, South Carolina, on February 15, 1942, to James and Marion Sleigh. Mary married the love of her life, Ira Morris, in 1982, and cherished every moment with him. In her younger years, she loved to go fishing. Mary always looked forward to playing Bingo as often as the opportunity came around. Mary was very grounded in her spiritual life. She felt close to her Native American Cherokee roots by displaying decor. Mary was an avid collector of all sorts, including sock monkeys. Her love for sock monkeys now leaves wonderful memories for her grandchildren, as they all were able to make one with her through the years. She also had a special connection with cats. Mary was bold, and spoke her mind. You always knew where you stood with her, but with good intent. Others always came first to her, and she wanted to make sure those closest to her were taken care of.
A special mention to her granddaughter, Carmen Rundblade and great-grandsons Jayse and Jaylin Rundblade for the loving care they provided in these past years.
Mary is survived by her children, Thomas (Michele) Rundblade of Manasses, VA, Donald Rundblade of Osceola, AR, Edith Coburn of Mountainview, AR, Carla (Kevin) Winter of Rockford, IL, Carl Rundblade Jr. of Osceola, AR, and Ira Morris II of Loves Park, IL; sister, Paulette Hart of Union, SC; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ira Morris; daughter, Anita Rundblade; sister, Becky Heckle.
A Celebration of Life for Mary will be announced in the coming days.
