

MICHAEL JOHN LACK, 56 LOVES PARK - Michael John Lack, 56, of Loves Park passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at SwedishAmerican Hospital, after a heart attack. Born Nov. 3, 1955, in Rockford, the son of the late John E. Lack II and Betty (Kingsbury) Sanders. He was a 1973 graduate of Harlem High School. He was the former husband of Ramona E. Lyle. Very well liked and loved by all, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, nature, cooking and spending time with his family, especially his daughters and grandson. He started his career as a chef at The Mayflower Restaurant in its prime. Devoted to his family, he was proud to help his daughter and son-in-law open their restaurant, MBU Grill, and assisted his brother and sister-in-law with Johnny Pamcakes. Most recently employed at the Hope and Anchor (the former Mayflower). He attended Bethany Presbyterian Church in Loves Park. Survivors include daughters, Sarah (Gary) Vinnitsky and Rachel Lack; sister, Connie (Roger) Foss; brothers, John (Pam) Lack III and Thomas (Grace) Lack; stepfather, Ernest "Ernie" Sanders; grandson, Evan Vinnitsky; and loving companion, Carol Crane. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 W. State St., Rockford, with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service.
